Stray Rescue of St. Louis is a kind of organization known to regularly patrol different areas to survey if there are animals in need of help. These people dedicate their time and effort to show compassion. In fact, they are one of the largest no-kill shelters.
During their patrol, Stray Rescue of St. Louis chanced upon a stray female dog with a broken leg. However, what struck them the most is what they discovered next. The female dog has milk which means, she just gave birth!
They scoured the area to find the dog mom’s puppies. They searched high and low, pushed branches aside, and crawled under the bushes. As they shone their flashlight, they found the puppies’ den.
The dog mom dug out the dirt under the bushes and placed her puppies inside. It was like a safe haven for her little ones.
As soon as they found them, they picked them out one by one and placed them inside an open container. The thing is, there are thirteen puppies in total!

Once they verified that there are no puppies left, they evacuated the area and brought the family to their shelter. The rescuers made sure to give them comfort and warmth.
Meanwhile, for the dog mom, they needed to perform surgery on her broken leg. For her puppies, they will be spayed and neutered, and once old enough, they will be put up for adoption.
The organization asks for help in fostering these little bunch. If you’re interested in helping them, you can check out their main website for more information.
